Audrey Renaud-Dohse moved to the Walla Walla area from New Hampshire in May 1999 and currently lives in Dixie, Washington. She has been a member of the Walla Walla Choral Society since the spring of 2000, when she saw an invitation in the newspaper to sing a major choral work with a large group. It seemed to be "just what she needed!" She has been a member of the board since 2003. Audrey isn't new to the choir scene, having been inducted by her sister at the age of 5 to join the alto section of the local church's youth choir.

Audrey attended the University of New Hampshire in Durham, studying music education. While there, she traveled to Europe with the UNH Repertory Chorus. They sang in St. Mark's Cathedral in Venice, Italy, as well as numerous other places in Europe. Audrey received her degree in Music Theory and Composition from Keene State College in Keene, NH, in 1981. While at Keene State, she appeared in Dido and Aeneas and The Threepenny Opera, and was a member of the Singing Servers at a Medieval dinner. Since moving to Washington, she received her certification in Secondary Choral Music, K-12 general music, and English/Language Arts with a concentration on LEP and literacy from Washington State University in Spring 2005. Through her participation in various musicals with Walla Walla Little Theater, and Choral Society, and doing volunteer work with youth and elderly, she has gained a sense of community in this area..

If she were a musical work, Audrey would probably be "Urge for Going," as sung by Tom Rush; or perhaps Stravinsky's "The Rite of Spring"—because she's a grandparent, a sun-lover, and a dreamer.

Audrey's favorite concert was the 60's concert, but her second Christmas concert was probably the most enjoyable and fun to do. It included music from all over the world, and she likes to sing in different languages.

The Walla Walla Choral Society has been good for Audrey, as it has given her a chance to branch out and meet people with similar interests. It gives her a lift when she's down, and companionship when she feels lonely. This group has been like a second family to her, while her own is 3,000 miles away. She hopes to continue singing with the Choral Society (as well as her folk band, "Feels Like Home") for many years to come.
